If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying experiences that still feel heavy, no matter how much time has passed. Reaching out for support is not always easy, and I want you to know that you are welcome here.
I specialise in EMDR therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps people process distressing or traumatic experiences, so they no longer feel as overwhelming or intrusive. I offer EMDR therapy for women, including support with anxiety and relational difficulties. EMDR can be particularly helpful if you feel held back by past events, painful memories, anxiety, or patterns that seem difficult to shift.
I also provide EMDR for relationship trauma and EMDR for women with anxiety, helping you gently process experiences that may still be impacting your day-to-day life.
Alongside EMDR, I work in an integrated way, drawing on my training and experience to ensure our work together feels supportive, safe and effective. As part of my women’s counselling approach, we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
I am an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist and EMDR therapist. I qualified as a Practitioner Psychologist in 2017 and hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology. I completed my EMDR training in 2021. I have over 20 years of experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, including women seeking EMDR therapy for women with anxiety and trauma support.
I have worked within the HM Prison Service and the NHS. Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of meaningful change. Feeling heard, understood and accepted creates the foundation for healing.
My style is naturally warm, empathic and grounded. I strive to create a space built on trust, acceptance and integrity, where you feel safe enough to explore whatever you are carrying. There is no judgement here, only curiosity, compassion and respect.
I am based in County Durham, offering EMDR therapy in Ushaw Moor, Durham, where I provide in-person sessions in a calm and private setting. I also offer women’s counselling and online sessions for clients across the UK, allowing you to access support wherever you are.
If you are considering therapy, you may have questions or feel unsure about taking the first step. That is completely understandable. I am always happy to have an initial conversation so you can decide whether I am the right fit.
You do not have to face things alone. When you are ready, I am here to walk alongside you.
Coming to therapy can feel anxiety-provoking and overwhelming. However, it doesn’t have to be, and that’s why finding the right therapist is so important. From the very start of your therapy journey, I will provide a warm, relaxed approach and answer any and all questions you might have.
There are many different reasons why someone might seek therapy, including EMDR for relationship trauma or EMDR therapy for women with anxiety, and we will work together to develop goals for our time together.
My core training has involved working with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including common and complex emotional and relational needs, personality difficulties, and complex trauma. This includes providing EMDR therapy and women’s counselling tailored to individual needs.
Knowing what to expect can help relieve any anxieties you might have and help you to decide if therapy is right for you. Therapy with me generally follows this format:
Once you have made initial contact, I will arrange a free, no obligation, 15-minute consultation. This is an opportunity to explore whether EMDR therapy in Ushaw Moor, Durham, feels like the right fit for you.
We will explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to be different. This may include difficulties such as anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges that could benefit from EMDR for women with anxiety or EMDR for relationship trauma.
Based on our assessment and goals, we will begin working together. Sessions are usually weekly and may include EMDR therapy for women alongside a broader women’s counselling approach.
In addition to therapy, I also offer:
£100 per 50-minute session, delivered either in person in Ushaw Moor, Durham or remotely.
I understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give me at least 48 hours’ notice.
I offer in-person EMDR therapy at Ushaw House in Ushaw Moor, Durham. This historic building provides a calm and reflective environment, which many clients find supportive when engaging in EMDR therapy for women and trauma work.
I also offer online sessions across the UK, including EMDR for women with anxiety and women’s counselling, making support accessible wherever you are.
If you are considering therapy, you may feel unsure about taking that first step. That is completely understandable. I am always happy to have an initial conversation so you can decide whether I am the right fit.

Faye is an amazingly talented therapist and an expert on her field. I have a great deal of respect for her and her abilities. I was referred to Faye for EMDR to help with childhood sexual abuse which had infiltrated every aspect of my life leading to severe anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation. Faye very patiently took the time to listen to the challenges that I was facing and executed an effective treatment plan.
Her approach has helped me overcome many barriers and challenges I was facing, allowing me to live my life without harbouring negative emotions. With Faye/s support and encouragement we worked closely together to break through what I thought was a permanent block in my life, with incredible results. I am now living a very fulfilled life and back doing the job I love. Faye’s genuine care and commitment allowed me to face and overcome challenges that I once thought were permanent. I highly recommend Faye – you won’t regret it!
Thank you so much for helping me on my journey to start my new life. You inspire me so much as a person. You are a strong independent woman, you’re amazing
